Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home Center Opens in Disney Springs
DVC recently opened a Welcome Home Center in Disney Springs. “Gateway to Discovery” debuted last week in the space formerly occupied by Alex and Ani. It’s located opposite the Disney Springs Welcome Center next door to francesca’s.
The first thing you’ll notice when entering is the giant globe highlighting all the spots where you can enjoy a DVC vacation around the world. One wall includes several interactive displays covering both the Disney Vacation Club and the Disney Cruise Line. Another has a full-size mural of Mickey and Minnie in front of the Riviera Resort. You can also study detailed models of the Riviera and the Disneyland Hotel. Finally, a large Mickey statue is a great spot for a photo op.
Gateway to Discovery’s target audience is potential buyers and not current members. That will change next year when a second-story lounge opens exclusively for DVC members. I assume this is the same member lounge that was teased earlier this year. Walt Disney World currently has two DVC lounges, the Member Lounge in EPCOT and the Top Of The World Lounge in Bay Lake Tower.
