Imagineers File Permit for DINOSAUR Work
Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a notice of commencement permit for DINOSAUR. As usual, the permit is light on details, only stating the work is to “install set elements.” Mecca Productions, Inc. has been contracted for the project. That company, which specializes in design, fabrication, and installation, has partnered with Disney on several projects in the past.
This permit appears to be related to the Indiana Jones-themed ride set to replace DINOSAUR. Earlier this year, Disney teased that “2025 is your year to visit before [DINOSAUR] goes extinct,” which many, including us, took to mean the attraction would stay open through the end of the year. But today’s filing has us second-guessing that assumption. Imagineers might simply be keeping the ride operational before the meteor hits Dinoland. But I’m starting to think Disney is planning to close DINOSAUR sooner than expected.
