Icarus Exhibits Appears on Permit for Magic of Disney Animation Work

Icarus Exhibits has appeared on a new Walt Disney Imagineering permit for the Magic of Disney Animation update at Hollywood Studios. The company, which specializes in immersive theming, will “install set elements” in the building that’s replacing the shuttered Star Wars Launch Bay. This is the second WDI permit for Icarus in the past week. Earlier, they appeared on a Notice of Commencement for Meadow Swimmin’ Pool work at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

The Magic of Disney Animation, a family-friendly experience, will feature interactive activities, character interactions, and the “Drawn to Wonderland” playground. Outside, the Animation Courtyard is being transformed into The Walt Disney Studios. Both are expected to open in 2026.

The NOC permit offers few details, confirming only that Icarus has been tasked with the work. Could the team be creating the iconic Sorcerer Mickey hat above the attraction entrance? We wouldn’t mind. Icarus Exhibits has made several beautiful contributions to Walt Disney World, including Buzz and Woody in Toy Story Land, Tiana’s water tower, and the Sienar-Chall Utilipede Transport in Galaxy’s Edge.
