Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Removed from Universal Express Pass

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is being removed from Universal Orlando’s Express Pass lineup. Beginning July 1, 2026, Universal Islands of Adventure’s most popular attraction will no longer offer the skip-the-line service.

The news came as a surprise to many Universal fans. X’s Steven Iglesias even reached out to Universal Orlando’s social media team to confirm the updated Express Pass list was accurate. Here was their response:

“We are implementing an operational update to Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Effective July 1, 2026, the attraction will no longer be included in the Universal Express program, allowing us to improve the flow of the experience for all of our Guests.”

Interestingly, Universal’s website doesn’t mention the July 1 start date. Instead, the current wording makes it appear as though the change is already in effect.

Hagrid’s is Islands of Adventure’s most popular attraction, and it’s not even close. According to Thrill Data, the coaster averages a staggering 124-minute wait. That’s a mind-boggling number for any ride, let alone one approaching its seventh anniversary. Universal only added Hagrid’s to its Express Pass lineup in May 2025, so the company pulling the plug a year later says a lot about the attraction’s overwhelming demand.

We wonder if Universal will eventually make Hagrid’s available through its newer Universal Express Now offering. Rolled out earlier this year, the add-on allows guests to purchase Express Pass access for individual attractions during specific return windows. Availability is limited and fluctuates throughout the day. Hagrid’s feels tailor-made for Express Now. Universal could keep standby lines moving while still monetizing the ride.
