Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Now Accepts Express Pass

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure now accepts the Universal Express Pass. This is welcome news to Universal guests who have waited nearly six years to skip the ride’s long lines. According to X’s @zacstack, Universal has been working on the update for the last few months.

The Express Pass costs between $120 to $320 per person per day. Guests staying at the Royal Pacific Resort, Hard Rock Hotel, and Portofino Bay Hotel receive complimentary Express Passes.

So that’s the news, but this article is way too short to publish. So I’m going to share the story of my first experience riding Hagrid’s. It was back in the time of masks and social distancing. I snagged a Virtual Line while boarding The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. The ride door was swinging down as I hit the button. I’m not usually a good multitasker, but I nailed it that day.

My joy was short-lived. Even with the Virtual Line, we waited for two hours to board our motorbikes. We passed the time on our phones. Unfortunately, my son handed me his just as we were boarding. He didn’t trust his athletic shorts pockets to keep it safe on the ride. The only problem? My Costco cargo shorts pockets were already full. I tried cramming it in my right pocket, but that wasn’t working. So I pulled out everything to rearrange. And my credit card and driver’s license fell 10 feet beneath the ride’s track. I told you I wasn’t a good multitasker.

Hagrid’s was great, but my mind was on other things. Like, how was I going to fly home without an ID? I rushed to speak with one of the attraction’s Team Members as soon as the ride was over. They told me I’d have to check with lost and found at the end of the day.

After a few more rides, I took my family back to Disney’s Boardwalk for pizza and ice cream. Then I Ubered back to the park. The TM I spoke with walked up an hour later carrying an enormous bag of lost items, all from Hagrid’s.

“You lost your license, right? I found it, but the credit card is gone.”

What a relief. I had already paused the card, so no worries there. Now I’d be able to get through MCO security without any embarrassing back-room searches.
