Get Weird: ESPN8 Takes Over ESPN Wide World of Sports This Friday

Fans of oddball sports, Disney has you covered. ESPN8: The Ocho is taking over the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex this Friday, August 1, 2025. Expect pillow fights, dodgeball, slippery stairs, and more weird competitions. Best of all? It’s totally free to watch. Here’s the announcement:

“ESPN is bringing ESPN8: The Ocho to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex! Join us to witness the action across 11 seldom-seen sports. Plus, be on hand for a live edition of The Ocho Show and a special edition of SportsCenter as part of ESPN’s SportsCenter “50 States in 50 Days” initiative.”

Admission is free, but Disney recommends reserving a spot in advance.

Major League Paintball – 10 AM
NWLA Wiffleball – 11 AM
Omegaball – 12 PMA
This is a “fast-paced, high-scoring version of soccer where three teams compete at the same time with three different goals.”
TurfWars Adult Kickball – 1 PM
SportsCenter – 2 PM
Hosted by Randy Scott and Gary Striewski
Bullshooter – 3 PM
Darts, but with soft-tipped darts and an electronic board.
The Ocho Show – 4 PM

The Popdarts Championship presented by APL – 5 PM

Slippery Stairs – 6 PM
