First Look: 7-Headed Hydra in Disney Destiny’s Hercules Show
Disney shared a first look at the 7-headed hydra from the Disney Hercules show coming to the Destiny. Even in photographs, it’s hard to comprehend its scale. How is this part of a cruise ship production?

“Disney Hercules” stays true to the story and spirit of the beloved film with a fresh, contemporary retelling that stars all of your favorite gods, mortals, and mythical beings, many represented in surprising new ways.
I’d say the hydra is definitely surprising, as are several titans that grace the stage. The larger-than-life puppets were created by Michael Curry, who also designed the characters in Animal Kingdom’s Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! Unfortunately, Disney hasn’t shared pics of those giants performing on stage yet, but we have seen a few behind-the-scenes images.
In addition to the giant puppets, the show has massive set pieces and beautiful costumes. And so much great music. Audiences will love hearing their favorites from the film, including “Go the Distance,” “Zero to Hero,” and “I Won’t Say I’m in Love.” “Shooting Star,” originally written for the movie by Alan Menken and David Zippel, will make its long-awaited debut on the Destiny.
Select media and influencers were treated to a preview performance of Disney Hercules last night. The reviews are stellar. After watching this short clip, we can see why.
Disney Hercules, a Broadway-style show adaptation of the 1997 animated film, is one of three shows that grace the ship’s Walt Disney Theater stage. Guests will also enjoy “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney Seas the Adventure.”
The Disney Destiny sets sail on its inaugural cruise on November 20, 2026.
