Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Confirmed for Universal Studios Florida, Supercharged to Close
The rumors were true. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is officially coming to Universal Studios Florida, replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit in 2027. Universal teased the announcement over the weekend, and today made it official.
Orlando’s version of Hollywood Drift won’t be a carbon copy of its California cousin. The West Coast ride is carved into the hills of Universal City, terrain Central Florida simply doesn’t have. Even so, Universal is promising plenty of intensity, with the Intamin coaster soaring to 170 feet. Here’s how they describe the experience:
“Riders will experience the exhilarating sensation of 360-degree drifting as they speed through jaw-dropping maneuvers – including a 170-foot vertical ‘spike’ that will send riders nearly 17 stories in the air over the outskirts of Universal CityWalk.”
By comparison, Universal Islands of Adventure’s VelociCoaster maxes out at 154 feet.
Universal also confirmed that Fast & Furious – Supercharged will close permanently in 2027. Few people are upset with that news.
