Encanto Cast Records New Dialogue for Tropical Americas Ride

The anchor attraction in Animal Kingdom’s upcoming Tropical Americas land is staying true to its roots. The entire original cast of Encanto has returned to record new dialogue for the attraction. That’s according to film writer and co-director Jared Bush, who shared the update during a Zootopia 2 Q&A earlier today:

“Almost done recording our entire original cast. Being back in the booth with everyone is the absolute best!”

Two months ago, Bush revealed he was contributing dialogue for the attraction, which is themed around the Casa Madrigal:

“Flying home from Europe and my plane homework will be writing new dialogue for… the Encanto attraction […] which means new words for the magical, fantastical Familia Madrigal! You will not believe what the Imagineers are cooking up.”

That wasn’t the first time Bush raved about Walt Disney Imagineering’s role in the project. Back in August, he spent the afternoon with the ride’s development team. He didn’t reveal much about the day, but he did post 13 “mind-blown” emojis.

The ride’s storyline isn’t a simple retelling of the film. Instead, Stephanie Beatriz, John Leguizamo, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, and the others are recording dialogue centered around action in Antonio’s room, which has been transformed into a rainforest. According to Disney, guests on the ride “never know what member of the family you might bump into.” Thanks to today’s news, I think we have a pretty good idea.
