DVC’s McKim’s Mile House Now Open Two Hours Later
DVC Members and their guests now have more time to enjoy McKim’s Mile House. Disney Vacation Club has announced that the member lounge will remain open two hours later each evening. Its new daily hours are 11 AM to 8 PM.
That’s welcome news, especially given McKim’s limited seating. On my first visit last April, I was 28th in line for a table. It wasn’t all bad. I was able to ride the Liberty Belle and take hundreds of Big Thunder Mountain construction photos while I waited.
That experience was what ultimately pushed us to buy Membership Magic Beyond. Well, that and hanging out with characters in EPCOT’s ImaginAtrium. Honestly, we’re a little surprised the extended McKim’s hours aren’t a Beyond-exclusive perk. But we’re cool with that.
On that same April trip, Cast Members told us they had to stop accepting requests at 2 PM one afternoon, four hours before the lounge officially closed. That’s not a common occurrence, but it does underline just how popular the spot can be. Getting more people in the door is a smart move by Disney.
