DVC Updates Moonlight Magic Registration Process

Disney Vacation Club has updated its Moonlight Magic registration process, eliminating a loophole that allowed experienced users to gain an advantage. Previously, users were assigned a random number once the queue went active, ticking off in large chunks every few minutes. Savvy DVC members would use multiple devices to try for higher placements.

That hack no longer helps. Users must now input their membership number before being added to the queue. As a result, DVC knows who’s logged in, regardless of the device. Getting more than one queue placement is no longer possible.

March 6 update: We did not have to enter our DVC Member number during today’s general registration. It’s possible that step will only be included during early registration to ensure guests with qualifying hotel stays can enter the queue.

Also, members can no longer see their place in line. That number has been replaced with an estimated wait time. I understand Disney not wanting to share the queue totals, especially now that those numbers are far more precise. But the estimates supplied by Queue-It (Disney’s registration provider) were inaccurate. I hope those can be tightened up in future queues.
