Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course Closing for Renovations in 2026

Walt Disney World is planning another round of golf course improvements, this time at Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. Following last year’s updates to the Magnolia Golf Course, Disney says work at Lake Buena Vista will begin in late spring and continue through early fall.

Planned upgrades include fully renovated greens with updated contours and elevations, as well as improvements to green-side bunkers and chipping areas. Disney will also install upgraded irrigation systems around the greens to help maintain conditions, plus new drainage systems in many bunkers to reduce water retention after storms. Tee boxes are also getting an update.

Lake Buena Vista Golf Course winds through Disney’s Saratoga Springs, Old Key West Resort, and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, offering a more intimate playing experience compared to Disney’s other courses. At least, according to Disney. I’ll take their word for it. I haven’t picked up a club since college, and there’s a reason for that.

The 18-hole course is certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Wildlife Sanctuary. It’s best known for elevated, bunkered greens and its demanding 7th hole featuring an island green.

Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course is expected to reopen later this year. In the meantime, golfers can book tee times at Disney’s other three courses through the Walt Disney World Golf website.
