Disney World Unveils Renovated Magnolia Golf Course
Augusta has an Amen Corner. Magnolia has the Grumpy Gauntlet. After a multi-year renovation, Disney World unveiled an updated Magnolia golf course. The extensive redesign includes an 18-hole putting green and several reimagined holes. Oh, and that five-hole stretch named after the best Dwarf.
Disney promises golfers will love the updated course. Yes, even Grumpy Gaunlet. While Magnolia’s 13th through 17th holes have that moody namesake, Disney says they’re beautiful:
“Those holes… really are stunning. Think white sand bunkers. Unblemished fairways. And tropical landscaping. If you’re like me, you’ll definitely want to snap a few selfies during that stretch of holes.”
Unblemished fairways? Not for long if I’m playing.
Beautiful or not, Grumpy’s holes will be challenging. The 15th is 597 yards from the back tee box. Number 17 is a par 3 that’s over 200 yards. I’m guessing I’d play those two holes at 27 over par. Grumpy Gauntlet indeed.

Every Magnolia hole has a name relating to a Disney movie and a quote from Arnold Palmer (a pretty good golfer) or Walt Disney. For example, the 6th hole — The Mouse Trap — features Walt’s famous quote: “I hope we never lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse.”
The new 18-hole putting green — the “Greatest Green Ever Played” — features a scorecard and daily updates to the hole locations. The area serves as a warm-up space for the main event or a fun spot for kids to enjoy.
