Disneyland to End Early Entry for Hotel Guests Starting January 5

In a surprising move, Disneyland is ending its early entry program. Currently, guests staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels can enter Disneyland or Disney California Adventure 30 minutes earlier than guests staying offsite. To soften the blow, resort guests will receive one Lightning Lane Multi Pass during their stay.

The new policy takes effect on January 5. Here’s Disney’s announcement:

“Starting January 5, 2026: Guests who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels can instead take advantage of one Lightning Lane entry to a Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction during their Resort stay.”

This is a major loss. A single Lightning Lane can’t replace the value of early entry. For once, I hope Disney doesn’t try to be fair to Florida. We do not want this policy making its way to Walt Disney World.
