Disney Shares Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art, Opening Timeline

Disney has finally shared its first official look at the Disney Vacation Club hotel rising along the shores of Bay Lake, confirming what we’ve been seeing through our camera lens for months. Along with a summer 2027 opening window, the Disney Parks Blog released the first piece of concept art for Disney Lakeshore Lodge, offering a clearer picture of what this resort will become.

Here’s what Disney had to say:

“Disney Lakeshore Lodge will celebrate the beauty and magic of nature as seen through the eyes of Disney artists and storytellers. Inspired by Walt Disney’s lifelong admiration for the great outdoors, the resort’s design will pay tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature, with subtle nods to classic films — from the lush forests of Bambi and the colorful winds of Pocahontas to the sweeping glacial landscapes of Brother Bear.”

While Disney didn’t provide renderings of the hotel’s interior, they did describe what guests will encounter inside their rooms, including floor‑to‑ceiling windows and architecture and artwork inspired by local plants and wildlife.

The 967-room resort will offer a wide range of accommodations. Disney confirmed everything from “cozy studios” (which sound a lot like the Riviera’s Tower Studios and the Polynesian’s Duo Studios) up to larger, “spacious suites.” We expect those to translate to regular studios and 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom villas. Many rooms will offer beautiful views of Bay Lake, the hotel’s lazy river, and at nighttime, Magic Kingdom’s fireworks.

Then we have the Lake Houses, which we photographed last year. Those waterfront villas will come in both 1- and 2-bedroom configurations, a notable shift for Disney Vacation Club. Comparable offerings like the Polynesian Bungalows and Copper Creek’s Cascade Cabins are limited to two bedrooms and require a hefty number of points. Adding a smaller option here will make that premium experience a bit more affordable.

Disney says more details on dining, recreation, and design features are coming soon. Lakeshore Lodge debuts in summer 2027.
