Disney Shares First Look at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Queue Chaos
Disney just shared a sneak peek of the chaos awaiting guests when they enter the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets queue. And it is awesome. Imagineers turned the G-Force Records preshow up to 11.
In the clip, an anxiety-riddled Scooter is desperately trying to get The Electric Mayhem to wrap up rehearsal so they won’t be late for their concert. Everything about the character screams that he’s a real Muppet, as if David Rudman were standing just off-camera controlling him. I mean, he has the arm rods! But nope, he’s an Audio-Animatronic. Imagineers used motion capture to perfect Scooter’s physical comedy, and they absolutely nailed it.
We also catch a glimpse of the penguins running the mixing console, an absurd visual. On the other side of the glass, The Electric Mayhem jams away while Scooter slowly loses control of the room. Then, just before the clip ends, something goes terribly wrong, presumably involving a Muppet Labs invention. White smoke fills the studio, and poor Beaker gets slammed against the window.
This preshow is why people should queue up for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. This is quintessential Muppets.
