Disney Postpones Maiden Voyage of the Disney Adventure to March 2026
The Disney Adventure’s maiden voyage has been delayed three months, moving from December 15, 2025, to March 10, 2026. Joe Schott, President of Disney Signature Experiences, said the change comes after the ship encountered unexpected construction delays:
“As we work on the final touches to bring the Disney Adventure to our guests, we’ve encountered unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process. To ensure the experience we deliver reflects our commitment to excellence, we’ve made the decision to adjust our timeline. We know this may be disappointing to our guests, and we’re working directly with them to offer flexible rebooking options and uphold the trust they place in us.”
Guests booked on the affected sailings have been contacted with options. Those originally on the maiden voyage will be automatically rebooked on the March 10 sailing at 50% off. Guests who cancel any affected cruise will receive a full refund plus a 50% discount on a future cruise. Those itineraries must be booked by March 31, 2026, and sailed by March 31, 2027.
The Disney Adventure has a unique history. Disney purchased the unfinished vessel from Genting Hong Kong in 2022 after the company’s bankruptcy, with Meyer Werft taking over construction at the Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany. The ship’s delayed debut underscores the challenges of such an unconventional build.
