Disney Shares Details About the Disney Adventure Cruise Ship

Disney just released a boatload of info about the Disney Adventure, its newest cruise ship (sorry about that dad joke). This is the seventh ship in the DCL fleet. In 2022, Disney purchased the unfinished vessel at a deep discount from Genting Hong Kong when that company went bankrupt. Meyer Werft took over construction and moved the Adventure to the Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany.
The Adventure is enormous. It can accommodate 6,700 guests and 2,500 crew members. By comparison, the Disney Wish can hold 4,000 passengers and 1,555 crew members. The new ship will sail out of Singapore on 3- and 4-night itineraries. Disney promises families will enjoy new experiences on these cruises:
“The creative teams at Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering have been busy dreaming up exciting new ways to amaze and entertain adventure-seekers while onboard. Inspired by the magic of imagination, discovery, fantasy, and — of course — adventure, families will discover seven uniquely themed areas throughout the ship, all designed to bring the extraordinary worlds of fan-favorite Disney stories to life.”

Disney Adventure’s seven themed areas

Disney Imagination Garden
This area will feature “heroic and heartwarming Disney stories” from characters like Mowgli and Moana. The space will include an open-air stage.
Disney Discovery Reef
Nautical characters will call Discovery Reef home, including those from The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo, and Luca. This area will also include themed shopping and dining options.
San Fransokyo Street
Big Hero 6 is coming to the Disney Cruise Line! His location will be a “bustling family entertainment area featuring interactive games and activities, shops, cinemas and more.”
Wayfinder Bay
Moana has a second home in Wayfinder Bay. This location is inspired by Pacific Island artistry and will offer the best views of the ship and surroundings.
Town Square
Town Square is a forest landscape that draws inspiration from Tangled, Cinderella, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Princess and the Frog, and more.
Marvel Landing
“Avengers-level adventure” is coming to the Disney Adventure. I’m intrigued by the promise of thrilling attractions and an all-new experience.
Toy Story Place
The interactive water play area in Andy’s Room will be the perfect spot for little ones. Themed food venues will also be included here.
Staterooms
Disney also shared stateroom concept art. While familiar, these cabins have a different footprint than the accommodations we’re used to seeing on other Disney ships.

The Disney Adventure will set sail for the first time in 2025.
