Disney Names Thomas Mazloum Chairman of Disney Experiences
With Josh D’Amaro preparing to take over as CEO of The Walt Disney Company later this month, Disney needed someone to fill the role he’s vacating: Chairman of Disney Experiences. Today, the company named Thomas Mazloum as his successor.
Mazloum is no stranger to Disney’s parks division. He’s currently serving as President of the Disneyland Resort, a position he’s held since January 2025. Before that, he led Disney Signature Experiences, overseeing Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, and Adventures by Disney.
During his time there, Mazloum played a key role in Disney Cruise Line’s massive expansion plan. By the time the dust settles, the fleet is expected to grow to 13 ships by 2031.
D’Amaro congratulated his successor in a statement announcing the move.
“Thomas Mazloum is an exceptional leader with a genuine appreciation for our cast members and a proven track record of delivering growth.”
Mazloum also acknowledged the promotion on LinkedIn earlier this evening.
“I’m incredibly grateful as I step into my new role leading Disney Experiences,” he wrote. “It’s a privilege to help shape what’s next for our parks, resorts, cruise line, consumer products and experiences around the world – guided by an extraordinary team with a shared commitment to creativity, excellence and people-first leadership.”
Other leadership changes announced
D’Amaro’s and Mazloum’s promotions have triggered a few other leadership changes across Disney’s Experiences division.
Jill Estorino will take over as President of the Disneyland Resort. She previously served as President of Disney Parks International, overseeing Disney’s parks in Paris, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, and Tokyo Disney Resort (through its partnership with the Oriental Land Company).
Stepping into Estorino’s former role will be Tasia Filippatos, who most recently served as President of Disney Consumer Products. In her new position, she’ll oversee Disney’s international parks and their ongoing expansion projects, including the park in Abu Dhabi.
Meanwhile, Lisa Baldzicki will take over Filippatos’ previous role as President of Disney Consumer Products. Baldzicki previously led Parks Product Development and Retail, helping shape merchandise strategies across Disney’s domestic parks.
These leadership transitions will begin rolling out over the next few weeks and are expected to be fully in place by March 18, when D’Amaro and Dana Walden officially step into their new roles as CEO and President & Chief Creative Officer, respectively.
Disney’s Experiences division is entering a period of enormous expansion, with billions of dollars earmarked for cruise ships, new attractions, and theme park lands around the world. But growth alone isn’t what most Disney fans are hoping to see from this new leadership team.
For years now, guests have felt that Disney is too focused on squeezing extra revenue out of its parks. We hope the new leadership focuses on delivering the kind of value and guest experience that built Disney’s reputation in the first place.
