Disney Lakeshore Lodge Renames Two Wetlands Areas
Disney Vacation Club has quietly changed the names of two features planned for The Wetlands at Disney Lakeshore Lodge.
Disney first shared details about the Pocahontas-themed pool complex, lazy river, and play areas on June 17, 2026. After receiving a tip from a reader, we revisited the Disney Parks Blog article and found that two of the original names had been replaced.
Lakeside Lagoon is now Lakeshore Lagoon, while Perspective Pond has been renamed Cypress Point.
Lakeshore Lagoon will include a zero-entry pool and a large spiral waterslide. Cypress Point will feature a leisure pool and whirlpool spa with views of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks.
The names of the other three features within The Wetlands remain unchanged:
- Heron Shores: A nature-themed play area with climbing features
- Otter Springs: Interactive water features and slides for younger children
- Daydream River: The Wetlands’ lazy river

Disney hasn’t explained the changes. Lakeshore Lagoon may have been chosen to better match the resort’s name and avoid using both “Lakeshore” and “Lakeside” for closely related locations.
Cypress Point also sounds more like a resort destination than Perspective Pond.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge is scheduled to open in 2027.
