Disney Destiny’s Grand Hall to Morph with Villain Takeovers

Disney shared new concept art for the Disney Destiny’s Grand Hall. We previously learned that the space, themed to Marvel’s Black Panther, will include a T’Challa statue. Today, we learned the hall will transform throughout the voyage, highlighting the ship’s heroes and villains theme. While the Grand Hall will usually have a “bright and optimistic energy,” it can also morph into a “mythical realm of mystery.”

The room will transform with the help of 360-degree lighting effects, setting the mood for Disney and Marvel villains and their “auras.” Look for that transformation when Loki arrives. We’re told he’ll try to take over the ship at some point. And that’s not all:

“True to his infamous ego and affinity for chaos-making, you’ll never know where Loki may turn up with a grand proclamation of his glorious purpose or a dubious retelling of a well-known story. (He does have a penchant for rewriting history, after all.) The God of Mischief may even recruit unsuspecting guests for a surprise competition to prove their adoration for his royal highness, or command them to explain the strange foreign rituals of ocean cruising. (All-you-can-eat soft serve may be a new concept for the Asgardian, but I’m sure he will approve.)”

Loki won’t be the only villain interaction on the Destiny. Cruella de Vil, proprietor of De Vil’s, will have two character experiences. First, the dog lover will provide live fashion commentary throughout the voyage. I wonder what she’ll think of my Costco shorts. She’ll also “recruit guests for a bit of treble-making” whenever she hears her signature song.

You can also catch Dr. Facilier hanging around the Grand Hall, inviting guests to join him in a game of chance. And Maleficent will demonstrate her magical prowess in the Saga entertainment lounge home.

The Disney Destiny, with its moody Grand Hall and evil residents, is going to be a huge hit.
