Disney Airport Luggage Transfer Expands to Caribbean Beach Resort

Walt Disney World is slowly expanding its Airport Luggage Transfer service. Today, Disney announced that Caribbean Beach Resort is joining the program, making it the first moderate resort to participate. Previously, the service was limited to guests staying at Disney World’s value resorts.

Airport Luggage Transfer is operated by BagCheck, a third-party provider. The service allows arriving guests to skip baggage claim at Orlando International Airport. Departing guests can check their bags at their Disney resort, allowing them to bypass MCO’s long check-in lines.

Guests staying at any of these resorts can currently use the service. This is still a pilot program, so we expect Disney will continue expanding it.

  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Airport Luggage Transfer participating airlines

Additional airlines may be added in the future. For now, guests can only use the service when flying domestically on one of these airlines:

  • American Airlines
  • Southwest Airlines
  • United Airlines

Arriving at Walt Disney World Resort

  1. Fill out the registration form for the Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney service anytime from 30 days to 24 hours before your departure flight.
  2. You will need your Disney Resort confirmation number and your flight confirmation number when you register. You will receive a confirmation email after registering. If you registered more than 7 days before your flight, you will receive luggage tags in the mail. If you registered less than 7 days before your flight, you will not receive luggage tags, but your bags will still be delivered to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. You will still be able to track your bags (via the link in your confirmation email) even without luggage tags.
  3. Check in to your flight online as normal and pay any necessary baggage fees.
  4. Head to the airport and follow your airline’s procedure to drop off your luggage.
  5. Upon arrival at Orlando International Airport, skip baggage claim and head directly to Disney World.
  6. Allow up to 4 hours for your bags to be delivered. They can be picked up from Luggage Assistance/Bell Services in your hotel’s lobby area. Bell services can also deliver them to your room. Gratuities are not included.

Unless you pack a separate overnight carry-on bag, we don’t recommend using this service when arriving late at night.

Departing Walt Disney World Resort

  1. Check in for your flight online starting 24 hours prior to departure and pay any necessary baggage fees via your airline’s mobile app or website. For a more streamlined experience, leave all inbound tags on your bags.
  2. Please be aware that your luggage must be delivered to Luggage Assistance/Bell Services between 24 hours and 4 hours before your flight’s departure time. You can drop your bags off yourself or call bell services. Gratuities are not included.
  3. Bring a valid government-issued form of photo identification to the lobby area of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. You will need to show it, along with your boarding pass.
  4. Head to the airport, skip the check-in line, enjoy your flight. Needless to say, at that point, you’re back in reality and will now have to carry your own bags home.

Other departure notes

  • Flying before 1:00 PM:
    Drop your bags off by 1:00 AM the night before your flight.
  • Flying at or after 1:00 PM:
    Drop your bags off at least four hours before departure or no later than 1:00 PM, whichever comes first.
  • Luggage Assistance can receive bags daily from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM. You can also use your in-room phone to contact Luggage Assistance.

As always, don’t pack medications, electronics, perishable or heat-sensitive items, or important documents in your checked luggage.

Hopefully, Caribbean Beach is just the beginning of the next phase of this rollout. We wouldn’t mind seeing a deluxe resort added next. Say, Animal Kingdom’s Kidani Village?
