Captain Mickey & Captain Minnie Featured on the Disney Adventure Stern

Construction of the Disney Adventure reached a major milestone as Meyer Wismar crews installed the ship’s stern characters. While every Disney vessel has featured either Mickey or Minnie Mouse on its bow, this marks the first time the two will appear together on the back of a ship. Attached to a giant anchor and dressed in their captain’s uniforms, Mickey and Minnie are helping paint the Adventure’s gold filigree. Here’s the official announcement from Disney:

“The 18-foot-tall and 12-foot-wide anchor fixture was carefully lifted by the Meyer Wismar shipyard team using cranes before being bolted to the ship’s stern. This Disney Cruise Line tradition adds an extra touch of magic to the exterior, as different beloved Disney characters can be found on the stern of each ship across the fleet. The Disney Adventure is the first Disney Cruise Line ship to feature the captains as the stern characters.”

Disney shared a close-up photo of the duo before they were hoisted into the air. Minnie is perched on the anchor’s stock, seemingly trying to avoid Mickey and his paint. It’s a cute scene.
