Bob Iger Reveals Figment “Short-Form Video” Plans

Disney CEO Bob Iger answered several questions during today’s shareholder meeting. The last one made him laugh. A shareholder asked about Disney’s plans for Figment, the fan-favorite EPCOT character. Iger acknowledged that he gets this question at nearly every meeting and shared that he has directed Disney’s creative teams to develop “short-form videos” featuring the dragon.

This probably wasn’t the news the Figment’s fans wanted. In 2022, Deadline reported a Figment film was in development. Iger’s comments might indicate that the movie has been canceled.

While short-form Figment videos are nice, they don’t address the lack of love the dragon receives in EPCOT. Sure, guests can meet him in the Imagination! Pavilion and take pics of his statue, but Journey Into Imagination With Figment needs a refurbishment. I was hoping Iger’s response would reveal some much-needed TLC for the ride. Maybe next time.
