Baby Giraffe Ivy Makes Her Kilimanjaro Safaris Debut at Animal Kingdom
A few days ago, we shared news of a brand new baby girl at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Ivy, a Masai giraffe, was born at the park in April. Since then, she and her mother, Willow, have been enjoying backstage life. That all changed today when Ivy joined her Kilimanjaro Safaris tower on the savanna.
We’d give anything to have been there, but fortunately for us, Disney’s photography team is letting us live vicariously with some beautiful photos of the girl with her crew.

Update: Disney just shared a short reel showing Ivy’s first day on the savanna.
Disney also shared that Ivy has been growing fast. Since April, she’s gone from 120 pounds and 6 feet tall to nearly 300 pounds and 7½ feet tall.
Ivy is the second Masai giraffe born at Animal Kingdom in the past year. Her half-brother, Tucker, arrived in spring 2025, another important addition to an endangered species.
