Walt Disney Imagineering Files Permit for Tom Sawyer Island Demolition
Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a demolition permit for Magic Kingdom’s Tom Sawyer Island. The contractor, NorthStar Contracting Group, Inc., will be responsible for “demo, infrastructure prep, and utility modifications.”
Tom Sawyer Island, along with the Rivers of America and the Liberty Square Riverboat, closes forever at the end of the day on July 6, 2025. The area is being reimagined as Piston Peak, a Cars-themed land.
