Universal Shares Stardust Racers Video, Details
Universal released a behind-the-scenes video of Stardust Racers, its most anticipated Epic Universe coaster. With its dueling tracks, top hats, and corkscrew spins, this ride looks even better than I could have imagined!
Universal’s Dylan and Mike — the Ride Guys — were joined by JC, an executive producer with Universal Creative. JC explained the ride’s backstory: “The citizens of Celestial Park, who we lovingly refer to as Celestians, have figured out a way to harness the energy and capture these comets, jump on them, and ride them across the night sky.”
To create the comet illusion, the ride’s track will not be illuminated at night:
“One of the unique features of Celestial Park is the nighttime lighting, something Universal has never done before to this extent. There [are] millions and millions of pixels of light. We’ve decided not to light up the exterior of the track. Because at night, we want guests from all over to be able to… see the ride vehicles shooting through the night sky lit up, almost like… comets.”

The Celestial Spin
Stardust Racers’ signature moment comes after the second launch when the dueling coasters enter the Celestial Spin. The two tracks intertwine, giving riders stellar views as they rotate through the corkscrew. It looks amazing in the video.
Stardust Racers reaches speeds of 62 mph and a height of 133 feet. The track is just under a mile long. Celestial Park’s main attraction opens with Epic Universe in the summer of 2025.
