Universal Shares Footage of Monsters Unchained Animatronics

If you’re not already excited about Epic Universe, Universal’s latest video might just change that. Universal Creative went all out when creating the animatronics coming to Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. The attraction “will feature not five, not 10, but 15 larger-than-life animated figures of your favorite monsters. These figures will be totally state-of-the-art and will set the industry standard for immersive experiences.”

Guests entering Frankenstein Manor will encounter the following characters:

  • Dracula
  • Frankenstein (Victoria’s version)
  • Wolf Man
  • The Mummy
  • The Creature from the Black Lagoon
  • The Brides of Dracula
  • The Phantom of the Opera

Guests will also come face to face with Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, the great-great-granddaughter of Henry Frankenstein.

“Victoria believes she can capture and rehabilitate Darkmoor’s monsters, but like all mad scientists, her hubris proves to be her downfall when Dracula breaks free. As the most vicious of vampires chases you through the catacombs under Frankenstein Manor and attempts to unleash his fellow fiends, Victoria, Frankenstein, and Ygor race to save you from his wrath.”

Riders will find the nine-foot-tall, 800-pound Frankenstein’s Monster in the ride’s queue, “where he will actually walk within Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s lab during the preshow.” What?!

Guests will encounter Dracula various times throughout the ride. Remember, he’s the one behind the monsters terrorizing Darkmoor Manor.

“Among the monsters unleashed within the attraction is the fearsome Wolf Man. As guests try to escape the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor, they’ll come within inches of his razor-sharp teeth and jagged claws.”

Guests not ready for the intensity of the ride can meet monsters throughout Dark Universe, including Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, Ygor (Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s assistant), and the Invisible Man. They can also take pics with a monster hunter and a musician.

Epic Universe guests will get their first looks at the Monsters Unchained animatronics when the park opens on May 22, 2025. Ticket packages are available now.
