Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay Goes Cashless on February 25, 2026
Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay is officially going cashless. Starting February 25, 2026, the water park will no longer accept bills or coins. Instead, guests will need to pay using credit or debit cards, Universal Pay, Universal Gift Cards, or other tap-to-pay options.
For anyone still loyal to a good old-fashioned money clip, Universal does offer a workaround. Volcano Bay’s Cash-to-Card kiosks allow guests to convert cash into a Visa prepaid card. Those cards can be used throughout the park (and anywhere Visa is accepted once you leave).
The move makes plenty of sense for a water park, but it does come with an irony. This would’ve been an even easier transition if Universal still offered TapuTapu. Those wearable wristbands could be linked to a credit card, eliminating the need to carry anything into the water. The TapuTapu service was discontinued on October 1, 2025.
