Universal Orlando Testing Single Attraction Express Pass for Reign of Kong & Mummy

Universal Orlando is currently testing a new add-on to its Express Pass service. Universal Express Single Attraction Access is available for two attractions in the parks: Skull Island: Reign of Kong in Islands of Adventure and Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida.

X user @dscott214 shared a photo of an A-frame alerting guests to the new skip-the-line service. Scanning the QR code opens the Universal Orlando Resort app, but only for those inside the parks. @magiccitymayhem shared the resulting pages:

The new single-attraction upgrade doesn’t come cheap. Both rides are currently priced at $24.99 per person, although that can vary. For comparison, only Rise of the Resistance at Walt Disney World matches that price. Most other Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions come in well below that number.

Considering the typical wait times, it’s fair to question whether Reign of Kong and Revenge of the Mummy justify the high price tag. Thrill Data shows Kong averages a 33-minute wait, while Mummy comes in around 30 minutes – hardly unbearable lines for either ride.

Universal’s Express Pass already covers most rides, so a Single Attraction Express Pass likely won’t make much difference for those who buy it. Still, it could appeal to guests who just want to skip the line on a personal favorite, even if it’s not one of the park’s top attractions.
