Universal Kids Resort Updates Its 2027 Calendar
Universal Kids Resort has updated its operating calendar through December 2027, giving us a better look at when the park expects to need all seven days of the week. And when five will do.
The update includes adjustments to previously announced dates and our first look at October through December 2027. A few months gain operating days while others lose some. In the offeason, Tuesdays and Wednesdays get the most days off.
I list all of those changes below. If park ops minutiae isn’t your thing, you can always just visit our UKR calendar, which includes park hours, Silver Annual Passholder blockout dates, and holidays. And no commentary.
For those still here, let’s look at how Universal is refining the schedule.
Universal Kids Resort’s 2027 calendar

The changes begin in January 2027, when the park closes several days a week early in the month. That’s followed by a 24-day shutdown that stretches into February. The updated calendar gives guests two more days to visit, though. January 5 and 15 were previously listed as closed and are now scheduled to open.
February gets a small adjustment. The park was scheduled to open on February 11 and close on February 16. Those dates have swapped, leaving the total number of operating days unchanged.
March gains two park days. The original calendar showed four closures, but the updated version only has March 2 and 3.
Universal takes back those days – and a few more – in April. Previously scheduled to open every day, the park will now close on April 6–7, 13–14, and 20–21. All six dates fall on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Get used to that pattern.
May through July are unchanged, with the park scheduled to open every day across all three months.
Fewer weekdays
The schedule thins out once kids return to school in August, with Tuesday and Wednesday closures appearing in late August and throughout September.
That isn’t surprising. Since school started this year, weekday crowds have been mostly light. Our scorching temperatures haven’t helped, though the shade Universal is adding should make next summer a little more bearable. But fewer operating days could boost attendance on the remaining days while reducing the expense of opening the park for thin crowds. Those rides and shows still need staffing even when the guests have plenty of personal space.

Those Tuesday-Wednesday closures continue into October and November 2027. We’ll see a similar pattern this coming November, when the park is scheduled to operate five days a week except during Thanksgiving week.
Finally, December 2027 follows this year’s pattern, with Christmas Day as the month’s only scheduled closure.
The calendar could still see more tweaks. Universal’s fine print says as much: “These dates are subject change without notice.” For now, it looks like Universal is getting a feel for when families want to visit. Fewer days to choose from should mean more guests on the days the park opens. Those quiet Tuesdays are nice for us, but probably less exciting for Universal’s accountants.
