Universal Kids Resort Reveals Opening-Day Merchandise

Universal has revealed the merchandise coming to Universal Kids Resort for its July 1 grand opening. Every themed land will have its own dedicated retail location packed with character-inspired apparel, toys, plush, and accessories. And based on the preview images, Universal is leaning hard into wearable merchandise and role-playing rather than the traditional “buy it, toss it in a drawer, forget it exists” souvenir strategy. Justin LaFoe, Universal’s Global Parks Merchandise & Retail Officer, said as much:

“Everything we’re creating for Universal Kids Resort is designed with families in mind—from the child height displays to the character-infused storytelling woven into every shop. These new merchandise collections aren’t just souvenirs; they’re another way for kids and kids-at-heart to step into the worlds they love and carry a piece of that joy home with them.”

Jurassic World Outfitters

Does your kid love dinosaurs? More importantly, do you? Jurassic World Outfitters has you covered with dino-themed apparel, masks, action figures, LEGO sets, and plenty of other prehistoric greatness. Plush collectors will dig the glowing dinosaur egg keychain that opens to reveal a tiny dinosaur plush. Universal is also selling oversized sleeping dinosaur plushies.

Something tells me more than a few of those are headed back to the Universal Kids Resort Hotel.

Bikini Bottom’s Barg’N-Mart

Barg’N-Mart will sell SpongeBob and Plankton shoulder pals, bucket hats, plush accessories, and a Glove World glove plush hat.

Universal also showed off a pair of graphic tees. One appears to say, “Best Friends 4Ever or until Patrick forgets.” Don’t quote us on that. It’s hard to see the last bit of text. The other includes SpongeBob and Mrs. Puff and reads, “Failed my boating test.” Mrs. Puff’s Boating School is one of Bikini Bottom’s four attractions.

Additional apparel, plush, and beach-themed merchandise will also be available throughout the land.

Triplets Treasures in Shrek’s Swamp

Triplets Treasures will offer matching ogre hoodies for kids and adults, along with ogre ear headbands and bucket hats. Shrek and Donkey shoulder pals will also be available for guests who want those tiny companions following them around all day.

Minions’ Bello Bay Boutique

For those of us who appreciate a large, practical hat (also known as a big dorky hat), Bello Bay Boutique deserves your time. The shop will sell Team Yellow and Team Purple Minions bucket hats. Buy one for your kid. Better yet, buy one for yourself. July in North Texas will absolutely own you otherwise.

The boutique will also carry graphic tees, accessories, and plenty of Minion plush.

TrollsFest’s Sparkle Shine Glitter Glow

For guests who enjoy bounding, Sparkle Shine Glitter Glow will offer the “Troll-ify Me!” makeover experience. The package includes wigs, headwear, makeup, and accessories inspired by characters like Poppy, Branch, and Guy Diamond.

Mercado de Perrito in Del Mar

Mercado de Perrito will offer Puss in Boots-themed apparel, accessories, headwear, and cosplay items inspired by the residents of Del Mar.

Universal also took a moment during the merchandise announcement to remind everyone that Tienda de Dulces will be located next door. The sweet shop will feature a variety of themed treats designed to provide children with just enough sugar to make it to park close.

Universal Kids Resort Store

Located in the Isle of Curiosity, the Universal Kids Resort Store will serve as the park’s flagship retail location. The shop will carry merchandise from Gabby’s Dollhouse and the park’s six other themed lands, along with Universal Kids Resort-branded items.

Gabby’s cat apparel should be a popular option, especially with younger kids. The three outfits revealed feature Pandy Paws, Cakey, and MerCat. Pandy’s duds include cat ears, a zip-up hoodie, and jogger pants. Cakey’s has a cat ears bucket hat, a fleece pullover hoodie, and a tuile skirt. And the Mercat outfit has cat ears and a pullover sweatshirt covered in mermaid scales.

So even if you somehow manage to avoid all of the smaller shops during the day, Universal has thoughtfully provided one final opportunity to open your wallet before heading home.
