Universal Kids Resort Reveals Mostly Year-Round Operating Calendar
Universal Kids Resort will be mostly a year-round park. The park will remain open for much of the year, with stretches of extended downtime in the late fall and winter. Those closures will allow Universal to tackle maintenance while temperatures are at their coldest.
The park is currently scheduled to close on the following dates:
November 2026
3–4, 10–11, 17–18, 26
December 2026
25
January 2027
5–8, 11–15, 19–31
February 2027
1–10, 16–19, 22–26
March 2027
1, 2, 3, 9
Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day are the only major holiday closures currently listed, but guests will be able to enjoy those coasters on New Year’s.
Of course, this is Texas. Operational interruptions are still inevitable from time to time. Last January’s ice storm effectively shut down much of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex for days. Weather-related closures will almost certainly happen again. And even when the park is open, some attractions, especially the water-based ones, may operate seasonally or on limited schedules during colder stretches.
Still, the calendar makes one thing clear: Universal Kids Resort is leaning far more “year-round destination” than many Frisco residents originally expected.
