Rumor: DinoLand U.S.A. Phased Closures to Begin in November
As you may know, DinoLand U.S.A. is being transformed into Tropical Americas, which will feature attractions from Encanto, Indiana Jones, and a carousel showcasing Disney animals. According to a WDWMAGIC report, construction is set to begin soon. The land will begin phased closures before the holiday season, perhaps as soon as November. Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama, including TriceraTop Spin, will be the first to close. Dinosaur fans can breathe easy (at least for a few more months).

Dino-Rama is being replaced with Encanto’s Casa Madrigal, which should be a big upgrade. Most guests walk by Animal Kingdom’s carnival games on their way to and from Asia. Encanto’s Casita will bring plenty of energy to that corner of the park.
“If you’re a fan of drawers, floors, and doors, let’s go! The first-ever “Encanto”-themed ride-through attraction is coming to Animal Kingdom, featuring the beloved Madrigal family from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film. Inside the Casita, Antonio has just received his special gift — the ability to communicate with animals — and his room has transformed into a rainforest. It’s time to go explore alongside him, and you never know what member of the family you might bump into…”

According to WDWMAGIC, the DinoLand phased closures will extend into early 2025 when Dinosaur will bid farewell. My wife’s favorite Animal Kingdom ride will soon be replaced with a Mayan temple. Indiana Jones will take us inside to search for a “mythical creature deep within the temple.”
Fans of Dinosaur should make plans to ride that most excellent ride soon. Tropical Americas opens in 2027.
