Moonlight Magic Dates Announced for 2024

One of the best perks for Disney Vacation Club owners (other than, you know, being able to stay in deluxe Disney resorts every year) is Moonlight Magic. This after-hours event is unlike other Disney parties. It’s free. What’s the catch? You need a ticket to get in. We’ll talk about that and other requirements/rules in a bit.
DVC announced the 2024 dates this afternoon. This will be the second time we’re in town for one of these events. We like free stuff, so we’re pretty happy.

What is Moonlight Magic?
DVC members and their guests get to hang out in a Disney theme park after the park has closed to regular guests. They’ll eat some snacks, ride some rides, and meet some characters. It’s greatness.
Officially, this is what DVC says members will enjoy:
- Shorter-than-usual wait times for popular park attractions
- Disney Characters greetings
- Exceptional entertainment
- Complimentary special treats and delectable delights
That last bullet is where things have changed in recent years. My family went to an Animal Kingdom Moonlight Magic in 2019. We received way more than snacks. Instead, we ate free Combination Beef and Chicken Bowls and desserts at Satu’li Canteen before gorging ourselves on seven Mickey Ice Cream Bars. I’m not proud of myself for that last bit. But if you saw how happy the Cast Members were when we accepted one from them, you’d understand. They were practically throwing them at us. We had to oblige.

The Rules
- Members can only go to Moonlight Magic once per park.
- Each member may register for themselves and up to four additional guests (for a total of five). If the member is staying at a resort, then everyone on the reservation may attend.
- Party guests do not need a theme park ticket to enter the party.
- The member who registered must be present at check in. They will need to present their Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card and a photo ID.
- The entire party needs to check in together.
- Members can only register if they are eligible for Membership Extras. If you’re not sure, read the fine print at the bottom of this page.
Registration
It’s always a virtual queue, isn’t it? This one is easy though. Right before the registration time, open your browser and log into your account. Once the registration window opens, you’ll be placed into a queue in random order.
Whatever you do, don’t refresh the page!
In 2019, I was number 3500+ but was done with everything within 30 minutes. It’s nerve-wracking but easy. Good luck!
