Magic Kingdom Tops 2024 TEA Global Experience Index

Magic Kingdom Tops 2024 TEA Global Experience Index

Magic Kingdom once again claimed the title of the most visited theme park in 2024, according to the annual TEA Global Experience Index released today by the Themed Entertainment Association. The Index tracks attendance at major attractions worldwide. Since Disney, Universal, and other operators don’t disclose official attendance numbers, TEA relies on financial reports, regulatory filings, and tourism bureau data to compile its figures.

There are some notable trends in the 2024 Index. In the US, Disney parks are holding steady, all showing modest gains in attendance. None are back to pre-pandemic totals, but hey, that means slightly less crowded parks. Disneyland secured second place, while EPCOT (8), Hollywood Studios (9), California Adventure (11), and Animal Kingdom (15) all ranked within the top 15.

On the other hand, Universal Orlando Resort parks suffered downturns in 2024, continuing a trend from 2023. Those numbers aren’t surprising, considering many guests may have postponed Universal vacations until Epic Universe opened. That park debuted earlier this year.

Globally, Asian parks had strong showings, placing third through seventh in the global rankings. Disneyland Park in Paris fell 1.8% short of 2023 numbers.

The 2024 TEA Global Experience Index reinforces Disney’s theme park dominance. Universal Orlando, however, could be poised for a rebound, with the recent opening of Epic Universe and new ticket packages likely boosting attendance in 2025 and 2026.
