Jingle Cruise: Bah Humbugs and Christmas Chaos
Every year, our beloved Jungle Cruise gets a festive makeover that transforms the ride into a messy, chaotic tropical Christmas wonderland. The resulting “Jingle Cruise” doesn’t deviate from what makes this ride great. You’ll still get your fill of bad puns and dad jokes, they’ll just be themed for the holidays. And they’re as groan-worthy as ever.
“These chimps are after the one kind of insect that can dampen my festive spirit. Those right there are humbugs, belonging to the genus bah. I believe that makes them bah humbugs.”
In addition to the seasonal jokes, much of the ride (and queue) has been transformed for the holidays. Boats get punny holiday names. We rode Brrrrr Bertha (known as Bomokandi Bertha the rest of the year). If you’re lucky, Cast Members will lead you in singing The Twelve Days of Christmas while you wait in line. Don’t know the lyrics? That’s not an issue. For every verse after day one, your one true love will be gifting you turtle doves. Comedy gold.

The skippers have improvised with whatever materials they could find to deck the ride out for Christmas. A cargo plane has also accidentally dumped its holiday cargo, littering several scenes with Christmas packages. The animals, especially the gorillas and chimpanzees, look like they enjoy the gifts. And everyone’s favorite rhino is getting his point across even with a Christmas fruit cake stuck on his horn.
The exit even comes with groan-worthy jokes. Be sure to check out the skippers’ New Year’s resolutions scribbled on a chalkboard. Skipper Brian wants to “be funny” next year. Skipper Casey wants to overcome their fear of passengers.
While not every scene gets the Christmas treatment, the Jingle Cruise feels fresh. It makes me wish Disney World did more holiday overlays. Imagine a Smugglers Run mission where Chewbacca takes us to Kashyyyk to celebrate Life Day.
Wait, that might not be the best idea. Still, there’s only so much coaxium we can steal.
The Jungle Cruise never gets old, but the Jingle Cruise will always be a welcome holiday addition.
