“Hi Ho, Hold On!”: Muppets Take Over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026
Kermit the Frog announced that The Muppets version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will debut in 2026. Disney shared Kermit’s video on the same day that Muppet*Vision 3D is closing, perhaps to soften the blow of losing that beautiful show. It didn’t work for me. Yes, I’m happy The Muppets aren’t leaving Hollywood Studios entirely, but I’m going to need some time, okay?
But I digress. Here’s Kermit’s announcement:
“Hi ho, everyone. Hey, the Muppets are busy packing things up and getting ready for our big move to Sunset Boulevard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. I can’t tell you how excited we are to be part of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the first ever Muppet coaster in existence! That is, if you don’t count Gonzo’s homemade laundry chute roller coaster in our old theater. Which I do not. So, anyway, we will see you all there in 2026!”
Disney also announced that Aerosmith’s version of the coaster will run through the end of 2025.
While we don’t expect a major ride overhaul (my back wouldn’t mind a track replacement), we do expect to see plenty of Muppet gags in the studio and queue. Perhaps some Muppet*Vision 3D items will wind up on Sunset Boulevard.
I’d also love to see the ride’s limos rethemed as Studebakers. Can you imagine going 0 to 57 miles per hour in a Studebaker? No? That’s why it needs to happen!
