First Look Inside Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King on the Disney Destiny

One of Disney Destiny’s most anticipated restaurants is Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King. Part of the main dining rotation, Pride Lands is a “stylized version of a Boma,” a gathering place for families and communities. Disney shared photos from inside the new space, and now I’m even more excited about one day enjoying Nala’s Roasted Pork Tenderloin and chasing it with a Warm Chocolate Malva Pudding.

Getting to Pride Lands will take a quick minute. Like Arendelle on the Wish and Plaza de Coco on the Treasure, the restaurant is located on deck 5 in the aft of the ship. But it’s a beautiful stroll, filled with African-inspired artwork.

In the dining room, guests will find “depictions of animals and nature realized through lighting and special effects.” A wall of “windows” alternates showing sunrises and sunsets, reminiscent of the iconic opening scene from the original movie. Rafiki’s animal drawings – including Simba – can be found on light fixtures throughout the restaurant.

A low stage fills the center of the hall. During each meal, a band and performers will perform Lion King’s iconic songs using authentic African instruments. They’ll also use theatrical props to depict the story and its characters. Here’s some of the setlist:

A mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared”
An instrumental version of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” paired with a beautiful interpretive dance.
A moving rendition of “He Lives in You” from the sequel film and Broadway show
“Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata”, obviously!

Finally, let’s talk grub. Chefs have prepared a menu that includes “wide-ranging flavors of African cuisines with creative spins on Disney Cruise Line guest-favorite dishes, incorporating authentic spice blends, regional sauces, and customary grains and produce.” Guests lucky enough to get a second seating on 5-night cruises will get an alternate themed menu.

Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King looks like another home run for Disney Cruise Line. Between the stunning design, authentic African flavors, and live performances straight out of The Lion King, this restaurant might be one of the Disney Destiny’s standouts. The ship sails on its inaugural cruise on November 20, 2025.
