Disneyland’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Will Have Three Virtual Queue Windows
Disneyland guests hoping to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will have three opportunities to join a virtual queue each day. The ride, which officially debuts on November 15, will not have a standby queue. Lightning Lanes will be available. Virtual queues will be offered at 7 AM, 12 PM, and 4 PM.
Offering three virtual queues benefits both Disney and park guests. Sure, fewer guests will score a coveted boarding group at 7 AM, but they will have more chances later in the day. And if the ride goes down, the backlog of guests will be much more manageable.
Disney World’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure had significant downtime after it opened, causing frustrations to boil over. Guests who scored a boarding group early in the morning sometimes didn’t ride until late in the day (if at all). It was a PR nightmare for Disney. Disneyland’s revised plan should help mitigate those issues. Hopefully, Tiana’s west will operate more smoothly than Magic Kingdom’s and all of this will be moot anyway.
Something I didn’t consider was how this affects Disneyland locals. @jdmw09 shared this with us:
“It also covers a large amount of local visitors who just come in for the evening whereas the first two queues only cover full day guests. This is pleasant.”
As always, there are plenty of rules when it comes to virtual queues and boarding groups. Here are the details:
Each Guest can request to enter this virtual queue no more than once per day during regular park hours.
There are 3 daily opportunities to request to join the virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure:
- 7:00 AM – Guests must have a park reservation for Disneyland Park with a one-park ticket or a park reservation for Disneyland Park with a Park Hopper ticket
- 12:00 PM (Noon) – Guests inside Disney California Adventure Park with a Park Hopper ticket or inside Disneyland Park can request to join the virtual queue
- 4:00 PM – Guests inside Disney California Adventure Park with a Park Hopper ticket or inside Disneyland Park can request to join the virtual queue
This is a smart move. Another smart move would be to get rid of virtual queues a few months after a ride debuts. I’m looking at you, Cosmic Rewind.
