Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration Details Revealed
The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration is coming! Starting May 16, 2025, and running through summer 2026, guests will be treated to limited-time entertainment, food, and merchandise. The resort will be decked out with colorful new décor, including an “elegant medallion” on Sleeping Beauty Castle. And Mickey, Minnie, et al will be wearing new duds in Town Square. Here’s the rundown.
World of Color Happiness!
World of Color Happiness! is inspired by Walt Disney’s Disneyland opening day dedication: “To all who come to this happy place…welcome!”
“This nighttime spectacular will explore ‘happy’ through a kaleidoscope of emotions, hosted by Joy and the other Emotions from the hit Pixar Animation Studios films, Inside Out and Inside Out 2. Along the way, the Emotions manifest music and moments from favorite Walt Disney Animation Studios’ and Pixar Animation Studios’ stories, including Turning Red, A Goofy Movie, Tangled, The Lion King and so many more.”

Carthay Circle Restaurant will come alive in the evenings with “lights, music, and projection effects.”
Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!
The Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade is returning to California Adventure. This daytime parade has “incredible music, dynamic and colorful floats, and nearly 30 favorite characters from Pixar Animation Studios films, including Luca, Turning Red, Up, and more.”
“Paint the Night” parade
This is the headliner! Paint the Night has had limited runs at both Disneyland and California Adventure. This time, the parade’s “million brilliant LED lights” will entertain guests in Disneyland.
Wondrous Journeys
The Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular is also coming back to Disneyland. The show includes stories from Hercules, The Princess and the Frog, Peter Pan, Frozen, Big Hero 6, Moana, and Encanto, among others. It features projections that “transform Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, ‘it’s a small world’ and the Rivers of America.” Guests can also expect fireworks on select nights.
Both Wondrous Journeys and Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! will pause during the Halloween season.
Walt Disney – A Magical Life
“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will debut on May 16, the opening day of the 70th celebration. The Main Street Opera House theater attraction will feature a cutting-edge Walt Audio-Animatronic. I’d bet the house that Disney Imagineers have created something spectacular for this show.
Other offerings
Disneyland is getting a character cavalcade called “Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy!” A projection show is coming to “it’s a small world.” Finally, a new theme song was composed for the anniversary. Celebrate Happy will be heard in many of the above entertainment offerings.
