Disney100 Characters Are Now Available in McDonald’s Happy Meals

Update: We purchased characters without meals tonight. Each set of two costs under $2. Unfortunately, three of the sets were duplicates and one of the boxes was missing a character. But we also got Grogu, so I count that as a win. Okay, no more of these things for me. I’m not a collector.

We don’t cook on Halloween night. It’s impossible to have a nice meal with the constant doorbelling (not a word) causing the dog to flip out. So tonight we opted for McDonald’s. It was a great choice since today is the first day of the Disney100 / Happy Meal promotion. Yes, my all-adult household ordered a Happy Meal so we could get Disney toys. And then I took many, many photos of the toys. It’s who we are.

Each Happy Meal comes with two characters. Ours were Minnie Mouse and Sulley. They’re cute. They won’t sit on your mantle and wow your guests, but kids are going to love them. Our Minnie had some issues with excess ink blotches on her face, so I used Photoshop to clean her up.

These characters aren’t just good-looking. They also let you play games on your phone. It’s an easy setup, thanks to a QR code printed on the side of the Happy Meal container.

The intro animations on the game site are fantastic. After some fireworks, you’ll choose your world: Disney, Pixar, Marvel, or Star Wars. The game play is identical for all four worlds, but the graphics are slightly different for each. I tried playing for a few seconds. It won’t hold the attention of older kids, but it’s a great coordination builder for toddlers.

That’s it for my game review. Could there be a boss level? Could you earn McDonald’s rewards? I’ll never know.
