Disney World Brings Back Virtual Queues for May the 4th Shopping Crowds
Virtual queues are coming back to Walt Disney World for May the 4th, aka Star Wars Day. No, not for Rise of the Resistance. This time, they’re for shopping.
Disney has officially combined two of my least favorite things.
The first queue, for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, opens at 7 AM on Monday, May 4, 2026. You’ll need a valid park reservation if your ticket requires one. Annual Passholders without a reservation are out of luck. Hollywood Studios sold out of AP availability days ago.

A second virtual queue opens at 9 AM for Disney Springs. That one doesn’t require a park reservation, obviously.
If you’ve never been to Hollywood Studios on May the 4th, it’s hard to grasp just how crowded things get. These shopping queues exist for a reason.
There is some good news for those wanting to get in and out of those stores quickly. Merchandise mobile checkout will be available in the My Disney Experience app, allowing you to scan items and check out on your phone.
Visit the Disney Parks Blog to see the merch coming to Walt Disney World on Star Wars Day.
