Disney Vacation Club Website Gets a Modest Redesign
The Disney Vacation Club website has received a modest makeover. The update closely resembles the changes made to the Walt Disney World website last month, with a cleaner header, improved search form, and simpler navigation.
Most of the site remains unchanged, including the Member Dashboard and vacation booking tools. The improvements are most noticeable on mobile devices, where the old navigation needed some attention.

Improved header
The new header is cleaner, with larger text and more room for clicking or tapping. I can’t count how many times I selected the wrong item on my phone before this update. I always felt like Homer Simpson trying to call the power plant.

Disney has also pared down the content in the large dropdown menus. As with the redesigned Disney World website, DVC is no longer attempting to display every page on the site at once.

The navigation still serves two audiences: people considering Membership and current owners trying to book vacations. I generally ignore the sales pitch, and the new layout makes that easier.
The search form is also much cleaner, allowing for clumsy fingers. I didn’t notice new results in my limited testing, but AI-based search tools are expected to be rolled out to Disney’s websites in the future.

Updated home page
Other than the header, most pages appear as before. The home page has received a substantial update, again borrowing from the Disney World design, although only visitors who aren’t logged in will see it.
The vacation availability tool could still use some work on smaller computer screens. Its resort and room-type menus are confined to the width of their dropdown boxes, leaving the options cramped and difficult to read. The “Check Availability” button label is also truncated.

I only discovered the problem after resizing my browser to take screenshots, so it probably won’t affect too many site visitors. Still, it needs fixing.
DVC’s vacation planning tools look great on mobile devices.

Overall, this is another solid update from Disney’s IT team. Many DVC owners would prefer a dedicated app, but I’m perfectly content with a well-designed mobile website. This one fits the bill.
