Disney Reveals Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Food
Disney just announced the Lookout Cay food options that will be available to cruise guests starting June 6. Wait, what?! That island paradise is opening in 5 weeks? That can’t be right.
Disney wants their newest island destination to be fully sustainable. Their goal is to send zero waste to landfills, so diners will be eating on reusable service ware. I imagine a few guests will try to smuggle the stainless steel cups back onboard their ships, but I’m sure the X-ray machines will prevent too much theft.
Anyone who’s visited Castaway Cay will be familiar with many of Lookout Cay’s dishes, including BBQ ribs, rotisserie chicken, cheeseburgers, and various salads. Other Bahamian-inspired dishes will be unique to the new island, including Pigeon Peas & Rice and grilled snapper. Here are the dishes coming to True-True BBQ, True-True Too BBQ, and Serenity Bay BBQ (adults only).
- Bahamian Pigeon Peas & Rice with marinated chicken, oven-baked plantains, and fried okra
- Grilled Cheeseburger on a brioche bun with shredded iceberg lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, and pickles with french fries with American coleslaw
- Disney Lookout Cay Spiced Rotisserie Chicken marinated with Bay Leaves, onion, sweet pepper, lime, thyme, and goat pepper with grilled pineapple and black bean salad
- Plant-based Island Curry with tofu, cilantro, and potatoes (Plant-based)
- Bahamian-style Lime marinated grilled snapper with sautéed pickled vegetables yucca fries
- Grilled BBQ Ribs with “smoky BBQ” sauce, grilled corn, and yucca fries
Disney chefs have also been busy dreaming up new beverages for Lookout Cay guests. The following will be available at Mangroves and Go, Blue Hole Bar, Bow and Ribbon Bar, Watering Hole, Reef and Wreck Bar, and Sandsational Smoothies.
- Bahama Brew: Cold brew coffee blended with Hawaiian island syrup, cold brew, finished with a coconut flavored soft whip topping (Non-alcoholic beverage)
- Butterfly Switcha: Specialty Mocktail made with lemonade, butterfly pea jasmine green tea, and a sprinkle of blue edible glitter (Non-alcoholic beverage)
