Disney MagicMobile Gets Major Apple Wallet Upgrade in iOS 27
Apple announced several features coming to iOS 27 today, and one of them should make Disney fans happy. This September, Apple Wallet is getting an upgrade that will make Disney MagicMobile more useful throughout your vacation.
First, let’s talk about the Apple Wallet. Basically, it’s an app on your iPhone that stores digital versions of things you’d normally keep in your physical wallet, like credit cards, event tickets, boarding passes, hotel keys, and membership cards.
Disney guests can already add Disney MagicMobile passes to Apple Wallet. Once set up, those passes can be used to enter the parks, tap into Lightning Lanes, link PhotoPass images, and charge food and merchandise purchases back to a Disney hotel room.
That’s all handy, but the pass itself has always been pretty static. Most of the time, I only open mine to show that I’m a Disney Vacation Club Member or Annual Passholder. But starting this fall, Apple Wallet’s Disney MagicMobile passes will offer a lot more info.
Starting with iOS 27, the updated passes will display details such as:
- Park reservations for current and upcoming days
- Lightning Lane selections
- Details about special events like Jollywood Nights or Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
- Dining reservations
Even better, passes will update as you go through your day. This doesn’t mean you can ditch the My Disney Experience app. You’ll still need it to book dining reservations, purchase and modify Lightning Lanes, and manage the rest of your vacation. The Apple Wallet integration simply makes it easier to see your upcoming plans without jumping between screens.
Disney isn’t the only company taking advantage of Apple’s new pass features. Resorts World Las Vegas has also announced plans to use the enhanced Wallet experience.
These new features arrive when iOS 27 launches in mid-September 2026.
