Disney F1 Helmet Auction Benefits Make-A-Wish
Last February, Disney and Formula 1 announced a continuation of their “Fuel the Magic” collaboration, which blends “storytelling, racing culture, and immersive fan experiences at Grand Prix weekends worldwide.” So far, this collaboration has seen character appearances at Grand Prix events and themed merchandise as part of the F1 Disney Collection.
More recently, the partners have collaborated with Make-A-Wish and Bell Helmets to create two custom racing helmets. Bret Iwan (the official voice of Mickey Mouse) designed the helmets with input from Bobby Kim (Global Creative Director, Disney Consumer Products).

The full-scale replica helmets feature a matte finish, gloss graphic elements with red and yellow accents, Mickey Mouse artwork, a subtle Make-A-Wish star, and Formula One branding. Here’s how Disney describes it:
“The concept brings together Bobby Kim’s background in streetwear and contemporary design with Bret Iwan’s character artistry, translating Mickey into a racing context through graphic detailing, numbering, and track-inspired striping. Each helmet is paired with a custom presentation box designed for display, featuring a plexiglass case and a certificate of authenticity signed by both Iwan and Kim.”
One of the helmets is currently being auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish. It should make a lot of money for the organization, since it was signed by 20 of F1’s current 22 drivers. The group features three world champions and a total of 160 Grand Prix victories.

Two driver autographs are missing from the helmet: Sergio Perez of Audi and Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari. Hamilton is probably the sport’s biggest name over the past two decades. It’s unclear why their signatures were not included, but this is still a one-of-a-kind collector’s item that’s perfect for racing and Disney fans alike. It also supports a great cause.
Update (July 14, 2026): After a failed first attempt, Formula 1 has announced that the helmet auction will begin on July 15 at 10 AM British Summer Time (BST). That’s 5 AM for those of you on the East Coast of the United States.
