Disney Dreamers Academy Teams Up With Boys & Girls Clubs

Disney Dreamers Academy is expanding beyond Walt Disney World. Disney is teaming up with the Boys & Girls Clubs to reach more students, and at a younger age. The best part? It’s no longer a one-and-done event. The updated offering will be a year-round, multi-year offering.

For nearly two decades, the Disney Dreamers Academy has invited 100 high school students a year to Orlando for the chance of a lifetime. There, they met Disney leaders, Cast Members, and other professionals while exploring careers they may never have considered otherwise.

That mentorship remains at the heart of the program. The collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs gives Disney a way to offer it to students in their own communities, starting in middle school.

The first group will include 200 students from participating Clubs in the Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, and Houston areas. The pilot will run throughout the year and continue over multiple years.

Students will take part in virtual and in-person workshops, including hands-on activities that introduce them to fields like engineering and animal sciences. They’ll also connect with Disney Cast Members, other professionals, and fellow Dreamers. Those relationships are meant to give students people to turn to as they explore their interests and build confidence. Visits to Walt Disney World are planned, but most of the program will happen at home.

Where the Boys & Girls Clubs come in

The participating Boys & Girls Clubs already have relationships with the students and families in these communities. They’ll select the students and provide the spaces for the program, making it possible for kids to take part without a trip to Orlando every time there’s an activity. It’s a great concept.

Disney will announce the participants in October, with the pilot getting underway in January 2027. Disney will invest in the participating Boys & Girls Clubs for the current and 2027-2028 school years.
