Disney Destiny Sets Sail in 2025

Disney just announced the details about their next ship. The Disney Destiny, sister ship to the Wish and Treasure, will have a “Heroes and Villains” theme. As someone who would love for Disney to develop a villain theme park, I’m all in!

The Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering teams were inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story when developing this new ship, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose. Onboard, guests will encounter heroes and villains alike – including those from beloved Walt Disney Animation stories like “The Lion King,” “Hercules” and “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” – within spaces, experiences and entertainment throughout their voyage.

The Disney Destiny had its keel laying ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany earlier today. This is the first official step in the ship’s construction. The Destiny will be delivered to Disney Cruise Line in 2025.
