Disney Confirms Monsters, Inc. Show for Monstropolis

Disney has confirmed that a Monsters, Inc.-themed show is indeed coming to the vacated Muppet*Vision 3D theater. The Glob will host the unnamed production when Monstropolis debuts. Here’s the confirmation from Disney:

“The [Monstropolis] land will feature a Monsters, Inc.-themed suspended coaster, a Monsters, Inc.-themed theatrical experience, and themed shopping and dining.”

Speculation started swirling last month after the show was noticeably absent from an Imagineering exhibit highlighting the new land. I held off on covering it at the time because it just felt too far-fetched. The idea of Disney evicting the Muppets only to leave their former home vacant would’ve been a PR nightmare. I’m glad we didn’t need to worry.
